The Vision 2030 awards were introduced to recognise the achievements and success stories of those organisations, enterprises and individuals actively demonstrating alignment to the government’s Nine-Point Plan to boost economic growth and achieve the milestones set by the National Development Plan (NDP).
The winners of the inaugural Vision 2030 Awards were announced at a prestigious gala event on 22 June 2017, at the Birchwood Hotel in Gauteng, following a successful third Vision 2030 Summit.
The judges of the awards were: Adv. Lekolota Makua, Advocate of the Johannesburg Bar & member of the National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL); Prof. Siphamandla Zondi; Head of Department of Political Sciences, University of Pretoria; Simpiwe Somdyala, General Manager of Old Mutual Corporate Affairs, Old Mutual; Khathu Ramukhumba, CEO, National Youth Development Agency; Dr Raymond Patel, CEO, Merseta; Herman Warren, Network Director Africa, Economist Corporate Network, The Economist and Mothunye Mothiba, CEO, Productivity SA.
Supported by Public Sector Management Magazine, Denel, HRDC, NeMisa, Amsco, British American Tobacco, Department of Basic Education, Indigo Kulani Group and Mylan, the awards presented a unique opportunity for ordinary South Africans to join both local and international leaders, from government and the private sector, in celebrating strides in economic acceleration and transformation.
